3 cups sliced apples (about 2 large apples)
2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup chopped walnuts
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup cold butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease an 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan.
- Pare, core and slice apples; sort and rinse cranberries.
- Layer apples and cranberries in the pan sprinkling with 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup nuts as you layer.
- In a bowl cut together remaining brown sugar, flour and butter until light and crumbly; stir in nuts.
- Sprinkle topping over cranberries and apples.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes until fruit is tender. Serve warm or cold.
